For this years Indy 500, forty entries have been filed for competition. Among the forty, four of them are former champions, and four of them are women drivers. Helio Castroneves is the defending champion and he is joined with former winners Scott Dixon, Dario Franchitti and Dan Wheldon. Four women have the possibility of starting on race day for the first time in race history. The entries include Danica Patrick, Milka Duno, Sarah Fisher and Simona De Silvestro. Perhaps the big names and women drivers will bring a new target market to the race and it will become even more popular. People like to new things happening that are out of the ordinary, and the possiblility of four women drivers making it to race day shakes things up. Also, mixing in former champions always brings excitement and raises question to who is going to take the checkered flag.

The Wings trail the Coyotes by one game in the series. Detroit needs to advance in the playoffs so ticket sales will increase and Joe Louis will see increased revenues. We know that the city of Detroit is suffering from an economic downfall so the win would be big not only for the Wings but for the city of Detroit. Hopefully the Wings can use their star power effectively so they can market efficiently and fill the seats at the Joe. The stars of the Wings need to step up so they can pull of the series win and advance to the next round. A Stanley cup would be a huge success for the team and will show that the Wings are still a number one contender in the NHL. Go Wings!
With the Masters approaching many speculate the return of Tiger Woods. Some say he is going to tear it up, while others think that he's going to fold under all the pressure he is facing. I think Tiger is going to come back and win the tournament. This would be a huge victory for him because sponsors will see that he was unaffected by all of the negative attention and he can still win. If Tiger wins the tournament there is no doubt in my mind that he will be sponsors #1 target once again. The win will not only show that Tiger still has his skill, but it will show that nothing can get in the way of him winning and being successful, which will only make him more appealing to a wider range of sponsors.

The Wings blew a 4 goal lead, but Brad Stuart managed to secure the victory (5-4) by deflecting Pavel Datsyuk's shot and putting it beneath Jeff Deslauriers with 1:37 to go. The goal was called good, and video review showed inconclusive evidence that Stuart's stick was too high, which would of meant no goal. It was a big victory for the Wings giving them 2 points, and continuing their run to 9-0-1. The Wings are one point behind Nashville, and trail 6 points behind Central Division leader Chicago. Ticket sales are starting to pick up at the Joe again with the Wings winning more games. Hopefully the Wings keep it up, the next few games are critical not only for their playoff hopes, but for the financial stability of their organization.
